Back to School with Ms. P's

It's back to school time again! As parents, we get ecstatic. As grandparents, we are overjoyed to see our grands minds open to a whole new year of learning.

We have three grands in local schools to us. One is heading to second grade and says she is not going back to school because her big cousin is heading into junior high without her. She's our little gymnast, flipping everywhere! She is also the little lady who wants to grow older than her cousin, who has her beat by four years! Sorry, little lady, there is no way for us to work that magic but keep flipping!
Our 11-year-old granddaughter is growing up way too fast for me. I still remember her counting to ten in Spanish at two years old-- where has the time gone?! She is heading into junior high and in honors classes. She is so bright and beautiful! Lord, do I need a weapon to keep the boys away!
And, last but not least, our 15-year-old grandson moved in with us from the city so he and his dad can help him get a better education. He is a good kid who seems to want so much. He has been let down by so many adults. He's gentle and sweet but wants to have a hard exterior because he has had to grow up too quickly. We're adjusting to having him and his dad at the house. Moving in with grandparents who are pretty stuck in our ways, and have been empty nesters for ten years, we are all still adjusting.
We have one more little boy who is three and being raised in the city by his mom.
We love our grands! We're watching and listening to our grands and imparting as much wisdom in them that we can. We pray for our grands, our kids, our families, and the world as we all continue moving forward. Our hope is that you find joy in the kids and grands, and that we all experience joy in educating and watching the next generation grow well.
Stay blessed and healthy,
Lisa
